Award Title: BMS Midcareer Female Investigator Grant

This award enables mid-career female physician-scientists to conduct immuno-oncology research and supports their career advancement toward becoming a senior investigator. Research projects may be translational or clinical with a focus on immuno-oncology.

FUNDING AND DURATION

The grant is worth USD $225,000 (approx. AUD $312,000) over three years.

It covers the expenses related to the research project, including salary and benefits of the grant recipient and any collaborators, postdoctoral or clinical research fellows, graduate students or research assistants; research or laboratory supplies; equipment; publication charges for manuscripts that pertain directly to the funded project; and other direct research expenses.

ELIGIBILITY

Independent investigators, who are affiliated with an academic, medical or research institution anywhere in the world, may apply. Applicants must have a doctoral degree in a related field and may not currently be a candidate for a further doctoral degree. They must also have received their first NIH R01 or equivalent award within the past 10 years. Employees or subcontractors of a US government entity or for-profit private industry are not eligible for funding but they may serve as collaborators. Early-career researchers and individuals who currently hold an active AACR grant are not eligible, but past AACR grantees may apply. Investigators may submit only one application for this grant but they may concurrently apply for other AACR grants. Applicants must be AACR members or apply for membership by the application deadline. There are no citizenship requirements.
