Speaker: Dr Denis Tvorogov, Senior Research Fellow, Centre for Cancer Biology, University of South Australia
Title: Accumulation of JAK activation-loop phosphorylation promotes Type I JAK inhibitor withdrawal syndrome in myelofibrosis
Chair: Dr Peter Zalewski, Zinc and Cardiovascular Disease Research Group, The University of Adelaide and Basil Hetzel Institute TQEH
Speaker Biography: Denis Tvorogov received his PhD from the Institute of Cytology, Saint-Petersburg, Russian Academy of Science, in 2002. His first postdoctoral training (2002-2004) was in the laboratory of Graham Carpenter in Vanderbilt University, Nashville, USA and his second (2005- 2013) was in the laboratory of Kari Alitalo, Helsinki University, Finland. This work focused on Receptor Tyrosine Kinases related signalling.
In 2014 Denis moved to Australia to work as a Senior Research Fellow in the laboratory of Professor Angel Lopez in the Centre for Cancer Biology, UniSA, where his research focus is on signalling mediated by JAK non-receptor tyrosine kinases.
