• About

Clare’s background is mainly in molecular microbiology and cell biology. She carried out her PhD at the University of Nottingham, UK, on the molecular mechanisms controlling virulence factor production in Clostridium botulinum (the bacterium best known for causing botulism and producing Botox). As part of the ENT Surgery group at the BHI she is involved in a number of projects involving deciphering the mechanisms involved in Chronic Rhinosinusitis. In particular she is investigating possible mechanisms of immune evasion by pathogenic bacteria.
