US NIH National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases: Secondary Analysis of Existing Datasets for Advancing Infectious Disease Research (R21 Clinical Trial Not Allowed)
Award Title: Secondary Analysis of Existing Datasets for Advancing Infectious Disease Research
CALHN Internal Closing Date: 01 February 2018
This award supports projects that utilise open-access data, alone or in combination with other datasets, to address the knowledge gaps in basic or clinical research in infectious diseases. The primary objective of this call is to invite applications that seek to answer novel scientific questions by using data in the Bioinformatics Resource Centers (BRCs).
Research projects may propose combining data from other data repositories, including private user-generated data but must use data in the BRCs. Projects focused on influenza, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, antimicrobial resistance and malaria are encouraged although projects based on other pathogens relevant to NIAID are supported. Data, tools and other resources generated are expected to be findable, accessible, interoperable and re-usable, and credit all contributors including data generators.
This opportunity uses the R21 Exploratory/Developmental Research Grants funding mechanism.
