ASAHI KASEI PHARMA OPEN INNOVATION is an open innovation platform started in 2016 to recruit candidates for research collaborations related to drug discovery.

Asahi Kasei aims to create innovative new drugs to match their corporate philosophy, ”contribute to life and living for people around the world”. Realizing this goal requires the combined power of many researchers, both internal and external to the company, providing innovation through the integration of their knowledge.

For the 2020 program the 8 areas of their interest are:

  1. Chronic pain
  2. Autoimmune diseases
  3. Critical care medicine
  4. Bone and/or Cartilage disease
  5. Muscle related disease
  6. Core technology for DDS
  7. Pharmacokinetics technology
  8. Formulation technology (Particularly for protein and peptide)

FUNDING AND DURATION

Up to $50,000 USD per project per year.

The research collaboration period is one year in principle, but the research period may be shortened or extended depending on the research plan.

In addition, after completion of the joint research period in this program, joint research may be continued or expanded depending on the research results and the agreement of both parties.

ELIGIBILITY

Researchers who belong to a university or research institute outside Japan (academia, pharmaceutical company, bio-tech, start-up, etc.).

Students are not accepted.
