Speaker biography: Professor Zannettino graduated with his Ph.D. from the University of Adelaide in November 1997. He joined the University, as a member of staff, in August 2012, where he holds the position of Professor of Experimental Haematology (Adelaide Medical School, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences) and Associate Dean (Research), Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences (FHMS) (since September 2015). He heads the Myeloma Research Laboratory (MRL) based at the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) and is a founding member of the Medical and Scientific Advisory Group of the Myeloma Foundation of Australia and a board member of the Robinson Research Institute (RRI) and the Australian Research Centre for Population Oral Health (ARCPOH). He has published in excess of 220 primary research articles, reviews, book chapters and patents that have received more than 12,000 citations. In addition, he and his collaborators, have developed a family of patents which underpin the largest cell therapy company in the world, Mesoblast Ltd.
