Thesis title: Investigation of the association between oral health and health outcomes in hospitalised older people. A pilot study

Scholarship: joint The Hospital Research Foundation/University of Adelaide, Discipline of Medicine Postgraduate Scholarship

Clare McNally is a dental hygienist undertaking her PhD research in gerontology. She is investigating the relationship that oral health of hospitalised older patients has on general health outcomes at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (TQEH).

The outcomes of this research could result in the incorporation of oral health assessments for all older patients at TQEH. If successful it could provide a model for other health and hospital facilities within SA.
