The Basil Hetzel Institute (BHI) is able to offer a limited number of THRF/TQEH Department Vacation Research Scholarships in 2019-2020. These scholarships provide undergraduate students with an opportunity to participate in research projects at the BHI, TQEH, during the University summer holidays. Under the close supervision of experienced researchers, students will be able to test their research capabilities and gain confidence in pursuing postgraduate studies in the future.
Scholarships are for the full-time equivalent of a minimum of six weeks and a maximum of eight weeks. Half the funding is provided by The Hospital Research Foundation (THRF) with the other half provided by the host department at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (TQEH). Students can negotiate with their supervisor to complete some of the scholarship part-time. To be eligible, students must have completed at least two years of their undergraduate course.
Stipend: maximum $1,600 ($200 per week for 8 weeks)
Duration: minimum 6 weeks – maximum 8 weeks
