Speaker biography: Dr Wiederman is an interdisciplinary scientist and engineer working across fields of sensory neuroscience, computational neuroscience and neuromorphic engineering. He received a Bachelor of Medical Science and Bachelor of Engineering (Comp Sys) at the University of Technology, Sydney in 2005. He was awarded a Graduate Certificate in Education in 2007 and a PhD (Neuroscience) in 2009. Dr Wiederman is a Senior Lecturer and Head of the Visual Physiology & Neurobotics Laboratory (VPNL) in the Adelaide Medical School, the University of Adelaide. He holds an Australian Research Council Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (DECRA) and is an Associate Investigator of the ARC Centre for Nanoscale BioPhotonics.
