Thesis title: Novel nanoparticles for photodynamic antimicrobial therapy
Scholarship: University of South Australia Research Training Program (International) Stipend
Muhammed’s research is focused on Antimicrobial photodynamic therapy as an unconventional treatment for multiple drug resistant microbes. Before coming to Adelaide, Muhammed worked as a community pharmacist and Assistant Lecturer in Al-Azhar University in Egypt.
Muhammed’s research project is focused on developing nanocarriers to promote the efficacy of photoactive compounds against microbial biofilms. This project could lead to a promising treatment option for patients suffering from chronic rhinosinusitis, chronic wounds and oral infections.
