Muhammed’s research is focused on Antimicrobial photodynamic therapy as an unconventional treatment for multiple drug resistant microbes. Before coming to Adelaide, Muhammed worked as a community pharmacist and Assistant Lecturer in Al-Azhar University in Egypt.


Muhammed’s research project is focused on developing nanocarriers to promote the efficacy of photoactive compounds against microbial biofilms. This project could lead to a promising treatment option for patients suffering from chronic rhinosinusitis, chronic wounds and oral infections.
