Adrian’s research interests have been in endothelial dysfunction and inflammation in cardiovascular disease. His PhD was on the modification of low-density lipoproteins (e.g. ‘bad cholesterol’) by oxidants during vascular inflammation. This research project gave Adrian diverse experience in a variety of biochemical techniques, looking at gene and protein regulation to free radical and protein chemistry.
His current research is investigating the role of zinc alterations in vascular protection against cigarette smoke and cardiovascular disease.
